As well as teaching yoga and fitness, Kirstie is a SUP instructor and can often be found floating about on the ocean in downward dog. She especially loves sharing this adventure with others and runs SUP Yoga events and classes in the summer months, alongside her husband’s business, Surf Lewis & Harris.

SUP Yoga is a brilliant way to bring you into the present moment. It’s pretty hard to have a wandering and busy mind when you’re concentrating fully on staying on the board! It’s also not as hard as you might think (honest!): lots of poses and sequences can be easily translated to the board, and some are really enhanced by the constant movement of the water (which also helps build strength and stability). That’s not to say you won’t fall in, but then that’s half the fun! Savasana (relaxation) whilst you gently bob around on the water is pretty much one of the most blissful experiences around. It’s hard to beat a yoga class immersed in nature, and surrounded by the beautiful Hebridean waters, beaches and lochs.
