Kirstie Anderson began her journey with Classical Pilates in 2011 and brings over 14 years of teaching experience, offering both group and private sessions.

“I was teaching a lot of dance and fitness, and I quickly realised that in order to have a long and healthy career in this industry, I needed to take better care of my own body. After some research, I discovered Pilates, and after training in it, I found it not only transformed my body but also helped me prevent injury. Touch wood, I’ve had very few injuries throughout my career, and since increasing my personal practice this year, I’ve never felt stronger.”

In 2024, Kirstie embarked on a comprehensive and rigorous teacher training programme, expanding her knowledge to teach on the full range of Pilates studio equipment, including the Reformer. She chose to train with The Pilates Center — often referred to as the “Harvard of Pilates teacher training programmes” — and dedicated a full year to their intense, transformative course.

“What I loved about this course is that it’s so much more than just learning the moves and exercises. It’s about understanding how to read people’s bodies, being committed to real client change, and teaching in a deeply intentional way that connects with the body in front of me.”

In addition to her Pilates expertise, Kirstie has trained in various other movement modalities over the past 15 years, including  an advanced yoga and neurology course with renowned teachers Celest Pereira and Adell Bridges. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to each session, tailoring her approach to suit your unique needs.

Why Choose Private Classical Pilates Sessions?

Private Classical Pilates sessions provide a highly personalised approach to fitness and movement. Working one-on-one with a trained instructor on the full range of Pilates studio equipment — including the Reformer, and Wunda Chair — allows for precise alignment, individualised guidance, and a deeper understanding of your body’s movement patterns.

These sessions are especially beneficial for:

  • Those with specific goals or rehabilitation needs: Whether you’re recovering from an injury or want to work on a particular movement issue, private sessions can focus specifically on your needs.
  • People seeking to deepen their Pilates practice: If you want to progress from group classes or explore more advanced exercises, private sessions provide the space for growth and refinement.
  • Improving posture and core strength: Pilates is well-known for building a strong, stable core, and private sessions help you develop strength, flexibility, and endurance in the most effective way.
  • Injury prevention and body awareness: Learning how to move safely and efficiently can greatly reduce the risk of injury in both everyday life and other physical activities. Private sessions allow your instructor to monitor your form closely, ensuring you’re moving with proper alignment.
  • Athletes, dancers, or fitness enthusiasts: Pilates can enhance flexibility, balance, and overall performance, making it an excellent cross-training tool for athletes of all levels.

With private sessions, you get a bespoke experience that’s designed to not only meet your fitness needs but also to foster long-term body awareness, improved functionality, and a deep sense of strength.
